Chapter 5 of 6

The Secret Will That Stopped My Sister's Million Dollar Wedding

The Collapse Of An Empire

The wedding hall descended into total chaos as guests began standing up and heading for the exits. Whispers transformed into loud arguments throughout the rows of wooden chairs. Victoria sank onto her knees on the hardwood floor, her expensive white dress spreading around her like a broken cloud. Her makeup was smeared with angry tears as she glared up at Hannah with pure hatred.

Victoria: You ruined my life! I was supposed to be married into a billionaire family today!

Hannah: You built your happiness on money that belonged to a grieving orphan daughter.

Eleanor: The court will never overturn an estate agreement after ten whole years!

Hannah: Fraud corrupts every legal contract, Eleanor. My lawyer filed the lawsuit this morning.

Two city police officers in dark blue uniforms walked through the open back doors of the grand hall. They walked past the lingering guests with firm, measured steps, heading straight for the altar. Eleanor froze, her eyes widening in pure panic as she stepped backward toward the side door.

Officer: Eleanor Vance? We have a warrant for your arrest regarding grand larceny and document forgery.

Eleanor: Get your hands off me! Do you know who my family is in this town?

Arthur: She is nobody officer. Do your legal duty and take her away.

The police officers placed heavy steel handcuffs around Eleanor's wrists behind her back. She screamed hysterically, kicking her heels against the oak floor as they escorted her down the center aisle. Guests recorded every second on their smart phones, ensuring the video would spread across the city by evening. Victoria covered her face with her hands, sobbing loudly on the altar floor.

Victoria: Grandfather, please help us! You can pay off the legal settlement from the business!

Arthur: The business belongs to Hannah now, Victoria. I have no authority to spend her money.

Hannah: Take off my mother's sapphire ring right now, Victoria.

Victoria pulled the glittering blue sapphire ring off her left finger with shaking hands. She tossed it onto the hardwood floor near Hannah’s leather boots. Hannah leaned down, picked up the precious ring, and held it tightly in her palm. The cold metal felt warm against her skin, bringing a deep wave of emotional peace over her heart after ten long years of struggle.

Hannah: My mother worked her entire life to build this legacy, and now it stays safe.

Victoria: What am I supposed to do now? I have no money and no home!

Hannah: You can get a job in the real world just like I had to do.
