Chapter 6 of 6

The Pregnant Heiress Was Pushed Down The Marble Stairs

Justice Served in the Foyer

Three hours later, the quiet waiting room of the city hospital was filled with a tense, anxious silence. Mark sat on a vinyl chair, his dark suit jacket rumpled and his head resting in his hands. Detective Davies walked into the room holding a warm cup of coffee and a thick stack of legal reports. He sat down next to Mark and placed a reassuring hand on the tired husband's slumping shoulder. The legal process against Victoria was already moving fast thanks to the clear video footage from the hallway.

Detective Davies: The prosecutor has already denied bail for Victoria based on the severity of the charges.

Mark: Good. She needs to face the full consequences of her violent actions.

Detective Davies: The security cameras caught the entire push on video. It is an open and shut case.

Mark: All I care about right now is the health of my wife and our unborn baby.

Just as Mark finished speaking, the heavy doors of the surgical unit swung open with a soft hum. A doctor dressed in light blue scrubs walked out into the waiting area, pulling off his mask with a smile. Mark jumped up from his chair instantly, his heart pounding in his chest as he approached the medical professional. He held his breath, terrified of what news the doctor was about to deliver about his family's fate.

Doctor: Mr. Vance, I have very good news for you and your family.

Mark: Is Sarah okay? What about our baby?

Doctor: Your wife suffered some minor bruises, but her body absorbed the impact remarkably well.

Mark: And the baby? Is our child safe?

Doctor: The baby is completely healthy and stable. Mother and child are both going to recover fully.

Mark let out a long breath of pure relief and wiped a tear of joy from his tired cheek. He thanked the doctor repeatedly before following him down the quiet hallway to Sarah's private recovery room. Inside, Sarah was resting comfortably in a soft hospital bed, looking pale but resting with a gentle smile. She held her belly gently under the white blanket, feeling the strong, steady kicks of their healthy child. Mark walked over to the bed and wrapped his arms around her with total love and deep gratitude.

Sarah: We made it through the storm, Mark. Our family is safe now.

Mark: Victoria will never hurt us again. The lawyers and police are taking care of everything.

Sarah: I am just glad our child is safe and we can finally build our home in peace.

Mark: From this day on, only love and peace will enter our lives.

Weeks later, the court finalized the legal proceedings, stripping Victoria of all claims to the family estate and trust fund. She was sentenced to a lengthy prison term for her dangerous, premeditated assault on the grand staircase. Mark and Sarah returned to their peaceful home, filling the quiet rooms with warmth, love, and light. When their healthy baby was born two months later, the mansion was finally a place of genuine joy and security. Justice had been served, proving that truth and love will always triumph over greed and malice in the end.
