Chapter 6 of 6
She Hit A Four Year Old Girl At The Dinner Table
Justice Serves Its Final Plate
Two tall police officers stepped into the dining room, followed closely by two paramedics carrying medical kits. The lead officer took in the entire scene in a single glance: the heavy iron pan resting near the baseboard, the spilled red juice staining the floor, Clara holding her bruised four-year-old daughter, and Victoria standing pale and trembling near the cabinet.
Police Officer: We received an emergency report of an assault on a minor at this address. Is everyone okay here?
Clara: My daughter was struck by that iron pan on the floor. She has bruises on her shoulder and arm.
The paramedics immediately stepped forward, gently guiding Clara and Lily toward the soft couch in the living room so they could inspect the small girl's injuries. Lily whimpered softly, but the gentle paramedics spoke to her in soft, comforting voices, giving her a small toy bear to hold while they examined her arm.
The lead police officer turned his sharp attention to Victoria, who was attempting to smooth down her brown shirt with shaky hands, trying desperately to regain some control over her appearance.
Police Officer: Ma'am, did you throw that object at the child?
Victoria: It was a complete mistake! I was just moving the pan and it slipped out of my hand! I would never hurt a child on purpose!
Arthur: That is a lie, officer. We all saw her swing it with full force. And we have a live video recording of the entire event provided by our legal counsel.
Attorney Henderson's voice spoke up once again from the pink smartphone sitting on the table, clear and decisive.
Mr. Henderson: Officer, this is Attorney Henderson. I have already transmitted the high-definition video footage directly to your precinct's digital evidence portal. You will see clear evidence of intentional assault with a deadly weapon.
The police officer nodded sternly, turning back to Victoria while pulling a pair of heavy steel handcuffs from his belt. The metallic click echoed loudly through the quiet dining room, making Victoria jump in terror.
Police Officer: Victoria Miller, you are under arrest for felony child abuse and assault with a deadly weapon. Turn around and put your hands behind your back.
Victoria: No! Get your hands off me! You cannot arrest me! Do you know who I am?! Clara, tell them to stop!
Clara: You throw that pan at a four-year-old child! You have no idea what this is going to cost you! You are going to pay for every single tear my daughter shed today!
The officer clamped the cold steel handcuffs around Victoria's wrists, pulling her hands securely behind her brown shirt. Victoria began to cry hysterical tears of anger and humiliation as she was led out of the luxurious home she had tried so hard to dominate. As she was marched down the driveway in full view of all the neighbors, her grand life of wealth, status, and luxury completely dissolved into nothingness.
Inside the warm house, the paramedics confirmed that Lily's arm was bruised but not broken. Clara held her daughter close, placing a gentle kiss on her soft forehead as the little girl finally smiled again. Arthur and Evelyn joined them on the couch, wrapping their arms around Clara and Lily in a warm, protective embrace.
With Victoria gone and the truth fully revealed, peace finally returned to the Miller household. The family trust fund was secured, the house was safe, and justice had finally been served on a cold, permanent plate.
