She Hit A Four Year Old Girl At The Dinner Table

A Secret Recorded In Juice

As Evelyn knelt on the floor beside Clara, trying to wipe the red juice off Lily's colorful dress, her hand brushed against something hard resting in the middle of the puddle. It was Clara's pink smartphone. When Lily fell from her chair, the phone had slipped out of Clara's pocket and landed face-up right in the middle of the spilled juice.

Evelyn picked up the wet phone carefully, pressing her thumb against the screen to dry it off. As the screen lit up, Evelyn's heart stopped. A tiny red dot was flashing continuously in the upper corner of the display. Clara had been on a live video call with the family's senior estate attorney and the board of directors for their multimillion-dollar company before dinner started, setting up a legal consultation regarding the family trust fund.

The camera on the phone had been fully active the entire time. Every single word Victoria had shouted, every movement she made, and the exact moment she swung the heavy iron frying pan had been recorded in crisp high-definition video and broadcast directly to the legal team. The attorney had seen everything, including the attack on four-year-old Lily and Victoria's cold, heartless reaction afterward.

Evelyn looked up from the screen with a sudden, horrified gasp. She stared at Victoria with eyes wide open in absolute disbelief and growing realization. She realized that Victoria had not just committed an act of unbelievable cruelty—she had just destroyed her own life on camera in front of the very people who controlled the family wealth.

Evelyn: Victoria... Oh, Lord have mercy on you... You have no idea what you just did.

Victoria: What are you talking about, old woman? Stop staring at me like that! I did nothing wrong!

Evelyn: Look at this screen, Victoria! Look at what was running while you were screaming and throwing weapons at a child!

Arthur finally snapped out of his shock and pushed his chair back, walking slowly over to where his wife was kneeling. He looked down at the pink smartphone in Evelyn's hands and read the active line on the screen. His eyes narrowed behind his glasses as a stern, furious expression replaced his previous confusion.

Arthur: Is that... Mr. Henderson's office on the line?

Clara: Yes, Dad. I was presenting the final estate reports to the legal board before we sat down for dinner. I left the call running on mute so they could hear our family agreement.

Victoria: What?! You were recording us?! That is illegal! You cannot use that against me!

Clara: It is not illegal to record a business conference call that you walked right into, Victoria. And Mr. Henderson just saw you assault a minor with a deadly weapon.

Victoria's face turned pale, the smug arrogance instantly draining from her features as the reality of the situation began to settle in. She took a slow step backward, her dark eyes darting between the wet smartphone, Arthur's cold glare, and Clara holding her weeping child. The sweet red juice on the floor seemed to mark the exact spot where Victoria's comfortable lifestyle was coming to a screeching halt.

Lily's cries began to soften into tiny gasps as Clara gently cradled her against her chest, rocking her back and forth on the warm floor. But while the child was starting to feel safe again, the storm inside the room was only beginning to gather speed. Clara looked up from her daughter, her blue eyes burning with an intense fire that Victoria had never seen before.
