She Hit A Four Year Old Girl At The Dinner Table

The Truth About The Will

Clara carefully stood up while holding Lily securely in her arms. She walked over toward the dining table, standing directly in front of Victoria. Even though Clara was shorter and smaller, she possessed a quiet strength that made Victoria take another step back until her rear hit the sideboard cabinet.

Clara: You have called my daughter a beggar every single day since I moved back home. You thought you owned this house, this land, and every single dollar in the family bank account, didn't you?

Victoria: Brandon is the oldest son! He is the rightful heir to the estate! You are just a divorced woman crawling back for hand-outs!

Clara: Is that what Brandon told you? Is that why you treat everyone in this house like your personal servants?

Arthur stepped forward, his voice deep and stern as he addressed his daughter-in-law. For years, Arthur had kept quiet to avoid family conflict, but seeing his granddaughter hurt on the floor had broken his patience completely. He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a small set of legal documents that had been delivered by courier earlier that afternoon.

Arthur: Brandon does not own a single brick of this house, Victoria. And neither do you.

Victoria: What are you talking about?! We have been paying the mortgage on this place for three years!

Arthur: No, you have not. The mortgage was paid off in full five years ago by Clara. Every single luxury car you drive, every dress you buy, and every trip you take is paid for by the trust fund Clara created after her late husband's estate was settled.

Victoria froze, her mouth opening in sheer shock. She looked at Arthur, then at Evelyn, and finally at Clara. All these years, she had believed that Clara was living off Brandon's hard work. She had convinced herself that Clara and Lily were poor relations leeching off her family's success. The realization that she had been living on Clara's charity was like a physical blow to her pride.

Victoria: That... that is impossible! Brandon told me he was the sole owner of the family firm!

Clara: Brandon lied to you to keep you happy because he knew you only married him for money. He owns ten percent of the shares. I own seventy percent, and the rest belongs to my parents.

Victoria: You are lying! You are just saying this to get back at me because of a silly little accident with a pan!

Clara: An accident? You threw a four-pound cast-iron pan directly at a four-year-old child's head, Victoria. That was no accident. That was a criminal act of assault.

The phone in Evelyn's hand chimed clearly as the voice of Mr. Henderson, the family lawyer, came through the speaker loud and clear for everyone in the room to hear. His voice was cold, sharp, and entirely professional, filling the silent dining room with heavy legal weight.

Mr. Henderson: Mrs. Miller, this is Attorney Henderson. I have fully recorded the incident on our secure server. I am currently dispatching the local police department and emergency medical services to the property right now. I advise you not to leave the premises.
