She Humiliated The Maid Until Her Husband Revealed The Truth

The Party At Golden Palms

The sun shone brightly over the sprawling estate known as Golden Palms, casting long golden light across the hardwood oak floors. Huge white pillars supported the high ceilings of the main hall, where rich guests gathered in fancy suits and expensive dresses. Waiters carried silver trays filled with champagne glasses, while smooth jazz played softly from the corner of the grand ballroom.

Victoria adjusted her bright red designer dress, looking in the hallway mirror with a smug smile on her face. She had spent years working her way into the wealthy Sterling family, marrying Arthur Sterling, the heir to a massive real estate empire. To the outside world, Victoria was a loving wife and a high-society philanthropist who cared about charity work. But inside the mansion, away from the flashing cameras, she was cruel to the staff who kept the estate running.

Arthur walked down the curved staircase, adjusting his dark tuxedo bow tie with a tired look in his eyes. He had been working endless hours dealing with his family estate, managing trust fund accounts, and taking care of his ailing mother, Eleanor. Eleanor was the family matriarch, a proud woman who now spent her days sitting in a golden armchair near the central hall, watching over the home she built with her late husband.

Victoria: Arthur, sweetie, did you tell the caterers that the caviar is running low?

Arthur: The caterers know what they are doing, Victoria. Please calm down.

Victoria: Calm down? This gala is for our charity foundation! My reputation is on the line tonight.

Arthur: Your reputation is not the only thing that matters in this house.

Arthur looked across the room at Clara, a quiet maid who had worked for the Sterling family for over fifteen years. Clara was wearing her neat black and white maid uniform, carefully setting crystal glasses on a side table. She worked quietly, never complaining, despite the constant harsh demands Victoria threw at her every single day. Clara had stayed with the family through thick and thin, earning the deep respect of both Eleanor and Arthur.

Victoria: Look at her, dragging her feet as usual. She works so slowly.

Arthur: Clara has been working since five in the morning, Victoria. Give her a break.

Victoria: You always defend the staff, Arthur. You need to remember who your wife is.

Victoria spun around on her red high heels and walked toward the grand hall, leaving Arthur standing by the stairs. Arthur sighed deeply, feeling the heavy weight of his marriage pulling at his shoulders. Over the last few months, he had noticed strange changes in his bank statements and missing paperwork regarding Eleanor's life insurance and legal will. Something was wrong in the house, but he needed proof before making a move.

As the guests poured in, the noise level in the mansion grew higher. Victoria moved through the crowd, laughing loudly with rich socialites, bragging about her upcoming real estate investment. But her eyes kept wandering back toward the private study where Eleanor's important legal documents were stored in a heavy oak desk.
