Chapter 6 of 6
Little Girl Claims Her Missing Dad Lives Beneath Floorboards
Rebuilding A Broken Life
Three days later, the sun shone brightly over the hospital courtyard garden.
David sat in a comfortable wheelchair near a row of colorful blooming flowers.
Lily ran around the grassy lawn chasing a bright yellow butterfly.
Her mother, Elena, sat on a wooden bench holding David's thin hand.
Sarah walked across the paved path holding a small gift bag.
Sarah: Good afternoon, everyone.
Lily stopped playing and ran directly toward Sarah with a big smile.
Lily: Officer Sarah! Look at my new bear!
Sarah squatted down and gave the little girl a warm, gentle hug.
Sarah: It is wonderful to see you smiling so bright today, Lily.
She handed the gift bag to David as he looked up with deep gratitude.
David: I can never thank you enough for listening to my daughter.
Sarah: Most people would have dismissed her words as a child's imagination.
Sarah: But her courage was the reason we found you in time.
Elena wiped a joyful tear from her cheek and smiled warmly.
Elena: The bank cleared all of Richard's fraudulent claims against our house today.
Elena: The judge restored David's full control over the family trust fund estate.
David: We are selling that old house first thing next week.
David: We want to start fresh in a place full of real light.
Mark walked up the garden pathway carrying four fresh juice boxes.
Mark: Who wants a cold drink on a beautiful sunny afternoon?
Lily cheered happily and took a juice box from Mark's hand.
Lily: Thank you, Officer Mark!
The small family sat together under the warm daylight sky.
The terrible dark chamber beneath the floorboards was now just a distant memory.
David held his daughter close against his side as she laughed happily.
David: We are going to build a safe home where no secrets can hide.
Sarah looked at Mark and nodded with deep satisfaction in her heart.
They had saved a life and preserved a family's bright future today.
Justice had truly triumphed over greed and dark deception in the end.
