Chapter 4 of 6

His Spoiled Sister Demanded Everything Until The Police Showed Up

The Law Arrives At Last

The heavy knocking on the front door sounded like thunder inside the tense house. Mark froze instantly, his hands trembling as he held Sarah's phone in mid-air. Chloe gasped, dropping her purse onto the floor as her face drained of all color. Even Patricia stopped her fake crying, staring at the front entrance with wide, terrified eyes. The flashing blue and red lights reflected off the shattered glass and grease on the kitchen floor, painting the room in vibrant, chaotic colors.

Police Officer: Columbus Police! Open the door now!

The stern, loud voice carried from the front porch, leaving no doubt that the authorities were not going away. Mark took a slow step backward, looking frantically around the kitchen for an escape route or a place to hide the stolen phone. He looked like a cornered animal, all his false confidence and arrogant posture disappearing in an instant.

Mark: How... how are they here? Did you call them before I took the phone?

Sarah smiled coldly, stepping back from the kitchen island with her hands calmly at her side. She didn't look scared or flustered anymore; she looked completely in control of the room.

Sarah: I set up a silent emergency alert on my smart watch two minutes ago, Mark. Did you really think I was defenseless?

Chloe: Mark! Do something! I can't go to jail, I have a reputation to protect!

Patricia: Tell them it was a mistake! Tell them we were just having a quiet family conversation!

Sarah: A quiet conversation? You stole my money and threatened me in my own home. There are no mistakes here.

The pounding on the door grew louder and more aggressive. The officers outside could hear the shouting inside and were prepared to break the door down if necessary.

Police Officer: This is the police! We have a report of domestic distress and grand theft! Open this door immediately or we will kick it in!

Mark panicked completely. He lunged forward, grabbing Chloe's arm roughly as he pulled her toward the living room, trying to make a run for the back patio door. But Sarah stepped smoothly into his path, blocking the hallway with a calm and fearless glare. She stood tall, refusing to let him run away from the consequences of his actions.

Mark: Get out of my way, Sarah! Let us leave and I will give you back every single dollar!

Sarah: You don't have every single dollar, Mark. You spent it all trying to pretend you were rich.

Mark: I am warning you, Sarah! Move out of the doorway right now!

Sarah: I warned you this day was coming.

Before Mark could push past her, the front door was thrown wide open. Three armed police officers burst into the hallway, their flashlights cutting through the dim house as they took in the chaotic scene. They saw the broken plate, the food smeared across the floor, Mark aggressively holding Sarah's phone while gripping his sister, and Sarah standing calmly in the center of the destruction.

Police Officer: Police! Nobody move! Put your hands up where we can see them right now!
