Chapter 1 of 6

His Spoiled Sister Demanded Everything Until The Police Showed Up

The Ungrateful Family Demands

The quiet neighborhood of suburban Ohio was supposed to be a place of peace for Sarah. She had bought the modest two-story house four years ago using her hard-earned savings after working double shifts at a medical clinic. Every brick, every piece of furniture, and every coat of paint was paid for by her own sweat. But over the last six months, the home no longer felt like hers. Her fiance, Mark, had moved in under the promise that they were building a future together. Instead, he brought along his entitled younger sister, Chloe, and his overbearing mother, Patricia, who treated the place as if it were a luxury resort built solely for their comfort.

Every evening followed the exact same painful routine. Sarah would come home exhausted from a twelve-hour day at the clinic, only to find the sink overflowing with greasy dishes and empty takeout boxes littering the living room sofa. Chloe, who was twenty-four and claimed to be an aspiring lifestyle influencer, spent her entire afternoon lying on the couch recording videos or complaining about her busy schedule. Patricia sat at the dining room table playing online card games and demanding fresh pots of coffee every hour. Mark never corrected them. In fact, he encouraged their behavior, constantly reminding Sarah that family came first and that supporting them was her duty as his partner.

On a rainy Tuesday evening, Sarah walked through the front door carrying heavy bags of groceries. Her back was aching, her feet were sore, and all she wanted was a quiet evening to rest before another early morning shift. As she set the bags on the kitchen counter, Chloe strutted into the kitchen wearing designer clothes that Sarah knew had been charged to Mark's joint credit card account. Chloe didn't say hello or ask how Sarah's day went. Instead, she tapped her long acrylic nails against the marble countertop and rolled her eyes impatiently.

Chloe: It's about time you got back. I have been waiting over an hour for dinner.

Sarah paused, letting out a soft sigh as she unpacked a carton of milk and placed it inside the refrigerator.

Sarah: I just finished a twelve-hour shift at the clinic, Chloe. There are leftovers in the fridge you can heat up.

Chloe: Leftovers? Are you serious right now? I told Mark I wanted a fresh hot meal tonight.

Patricia walked into the kitchen, wearing a fluffy bathrobe and resting her arms over her chest with a scowl.

Patricia: Don't speak to my daughter like that, Sarah. She has had a very stressful day working on her brand.

Sarah: Her brand? She spent all day on the couch while I saved lives at the hospital.

Mark stepped into the kitchen, his brow furrowed with annoyance as he took his mother and sister's side immediately, as he always did.

Mark: That's enough, Sarah. Stop being so dramatic and just cook the meal. We are tired of hearing your excuses.

Sarah felt a hot wave of anger surge through her chest, but she bit her lip and kept her mouth shut for the moment. She reached into the grocery bag, pulled out a roasted chicken, and set it on a plate. She thought that if she just kept the peace, things would eventually get better. She believed Mark loved her and that this was just a temporary rough patch in their relationship. But deep down, a dark feeling was growing inside her heart. She was starting to realize that she was not a cherished partner in this house. She was just an unpaid maid, a landlord who didn't charge rent, and a bank account for a family that didn't care about her at all.

As she carried the dinner plate toward the table, Chloe scoffed loudly and pulled out her phone to take a video.

Chloe: Look at this lazy presentation. You didn't even make fresh side dishes or a side salad for us.

Mark: Serve my sister! That's your job!

The words hung heavy in the air, cold and demanding. Sarah stopped in her tracks, her hand tightening around the heavy ceramic plate until her knuckles turned ghostly white. Something inside her snapped completely, breaking the quiet patience she had maintained for months.
