Chapter 3 of 6

His Spoiled Sister Demanded Everything Until The Police Showed Up

Uncovering The Hidden Theft

As Sarah steadied herself against the kitchen island, her breath came in ragged gasps. The physical conflict was bad enough, but the sudden realization of why Mark was acting so desperate made her mind race. Over the past few weeks, she had noticed strange withdrawals from her personal savings account, smaller amounts at first, then larger sums of money that she couldn't account for. She had trusted Mark with her personal information when they were planning to buy a car together, believing he had her best interests at heart. Now, looking at the panic in his eyes as he clutched her phone, everything began to connect in her head.

Sarah: You didn't just want a maid, did you, Mark? You wanted my money!

Mark: Shut up! You don't know what you are talking about!

Sarah: I checked my bank statements this morning, Mark. Five thousand dollars transferred to an unknown account last Friday!

Patricia's eyes widened slightly, but she quickly masked her reaction, stepping forward to defend her son once again.

Patricia: That money was used for family expenses! Mark had every right to use it for our living costs!

Sarah: Your family expenses? That was my life savings! That was the money meant for my mortgage and future safety!

Chloe: Mark promised me that money for my new camera equipment! You don't need all those savings anyway!

Sarah stared at Chloe in complete disbelief. The sheer audacity of this family was staggering. They hadn't just taken advantage of her hospitality; they had actively committed financial fraud against her while treating her like trash in her own home. She felt a profound sense of disgust, not just at them, but at herself for being so blind and trusting for so long.

Sarah: You stole from me. That is grand larceny, Mark. You belong in a prison cell.

Mark: Give me that phone—now!

Mark grabbed Chloe's arm in a panic, trying to force her toward the back door while holding Sarah's phone high above his head so she couldn't reach it. He knew that if Sarah got access to a phone or managed to leave the house, his life as he knew it would be completely over. He had used her identity to open three separate credit cards in her name, running up thousands of dollars in debt to fund Chloe's lifestyle and his own failed business ventures.

Chloe: Mark, what are we going to do? She's going to ruin everything for us!

Mark: Nobody is ruining anything! We are leaving, but she isn't reporting anything until I clean out those accounts!

Sarah: You think you can just walk out of here after stealing my life? You are delusional!

Sarah rushed toward the kitchen drawer where she kept a spare tablet connected to the house Wi-Fi. Mark saw what she was doing and tried to block her path, knocking over a kitchen chair in the process. The chair hit the floor with a loud wooden thud, adding to the total chaos of the room. Patricia began crying dramatically, holding her head as if she were the victim of an unprovoked attack, while Chloe frantically tried to pick up her purse from the counter.

Suddenly, the sound of loud, violent pounding echoed from the front door, shaking the entire frame of the house. The dark living room windows were instantly illuminated by bright, flashing red and blue lights, cutting through the night and casting dramatic shadows across the kitchen walls. The high-pitched wail of police sirens echoed down the quiet suburban street, coming to a sudden halt right outside the driveway.
