Chapter 5 of 6

His Mother Forced Her To Wash Dishes While Holding Baby

Truth Comes Out Completely

The front door opened, and a uniformed police officer walked into the spacious hallway, his gaze sweeping over the grand foyer before settling on the tense group standing near the kitchen entrance. Eleanor gasped in absolute disbelief, taking two fast steps forward with her hand raised in protest as the officer held up a hand to keep everyone calm.

Police Officer: Good morning. We received a call regarding a domestic disturbance and financial dispute at this address.

Eleanor: No! Officer, this is a private family matter and my son is making a huge mistake!

Connor: It is not a mistake, Officer. My mother has been illegally withholding estate funds and committing fraud against my father's trust.

Eleanor: That is an absolute lie! He is being manipulated by his wife!

Police Officer: Ma'am, please keep your voice down so we can handle this calmly.

Sarah stepped closer to Connor, holding baby Leo tightly as the officer opened his notebook to record their statements. Eleanor stood in the center of the living room, her face red with anger and embarrassment as the full reality of her actions finally caught up with her in front of a law enforcement officer.

Connor: Here are the original court documents and bank records showing unauthorized withdrawals from my trust fund, Officer.

Police Officer: Thank you, sir. We will need to review these and take formal statements from everyone present.

Eleanor: You cannot do this to me in my own home! I am Eleanor Vance!

Connor: This is not your home anymore, Mom. The court granted full management of the estate to me this morning.

Sarah: We just wanted to live in peace, Eleanor. You did not have to treat us like enemies.

Eleanor fell silent, looking at her son with eyes that finally showed the realization of her total loss of control. The house was quiet now, save for the soft humming of the refrigerator in the background and the gentle breathing of baby Leo sleeping peacefully against his mother's chest. The officer made several notes before turning to guide Eleanor toward the sitting room so Connor and Sarah could pack their things without further harassment.

Police Officer: Ma'am, please sit over here while we complete the necessary paperwork.

Eleanor: Connor... please do not do this to your family.

Connor: My family is right here, Mom. And I am going to protect them.
