Chapter 3 of 6

A Wealthy Heir Assaulted A Female Cop And Regretted It

Uncovering The Past

Inside the central booking office three hours later, Justin sat in a stainless steel interrogation room. His jacket was missing, his white shirt was stained with street dirt, and his hair was completely disheveled. He tapped his shiny shoe impatiently against the cold linoleum floor while his expensive criminal defense lawyer sat beside him. Attorney Richard Sterling was a high-priced professional known for making big legal troubles disappear for the city elite.

The heavy metal door clicked open, and Officer Sarah Blake walked inside carrying a thick blue paper file. She wore a clean uniform, though a dark purple bruise was already forming along her jawline where he had struck her. She pulled out a metal chair across the table and sat down with calm, measured grace. Behind her came lead detective David Miller, who placed a recording device in the center of the table.

Attorney Sterling: My client is willing to pay full restitution for any minor medical bills incurred.

Officer Sarah Blake: This is not a civil negotiation, Mr. Sterling.

Justin Vance: You are a low-level cop who got in my way. Name your price.

Detective Miller: Shut your mouth, Mr. Vance, before you add bribery charges.

Attorney Sterling: Detective, my client was stressed regarding ongoing trust fund restructuring litigation.

Officer Sarah Blake: Your client committed felony assault on a peace officer in broad daylight.

Sarah opened the blue paper file and spread several official documents across the polished table. Justin glanced down casually, expecting to see basic arrest reports or booking photos. Instead, his eyes locked onto a yellowed birth certificate and a copy of an old probate court ruling. His arrogant expression suddenly softened as a shadow of genuine anxiety crossed his face.

The file contained complete records from the estate of Arthur Vance, the late billionaire founder of the Vance shipping empire. Arthur had passed away three years prior, leaving behind a massive fortune estimated at over four hundred million dollars. For years, Justin had claimed to be the sole heir to this massive family trust fund, living off huge monthly allowances granted by the estate executors.

Officer Sarah Blake: Does this file look familiar to you, Justin?

Justin Vance: Why do you have my father's probate documents in a police record?

Officer Sarah Blake: Because your father was not Arthur Vance.

Justin Vance: That is a complete lie! My mother was legally married to him!

Officer Sarah Blake: Until the final probate court audit revealed massive forgery six months ago.

Attorney Sterling: Officer, that private estate dispute is currently under sealed protective order.

Officer Sarah Blake: Not anymore, counselor. The seal was lifted by a federal judge this morning.

Sarah slid a multi-page financial ledger across the table directly toward attorney Sterling's hands. The documents revealed that Justin's late mother had falsified parentage records to secure a control seat on the family charitable trust board. Furthermore, Justin had been illegally spending millions from the corporate inheritance account while knowing his legal standing was under active investigation for grand fraud.

Justin stared at the black ink on the paper, his skin turning pale as the reality settled into his mind. He was not just facing violent felony assault charges for striking a police officer in public. The entire foundation of his immense wealth, his social standing, and his protected life was crumbling right in front of his eyes. The woman he had assaulted on the street was not just a random officer; she was the court-appointed receiver assigned to verify his assets.
