Chapter 1 of 6

A Wealthy Heir Assaulted A Female Cop And Regretted It

The Car In Tow Zone

The bright morning sun reflected off the glossy white paint of a brand new luxury sports car. It sat parked diagonally across two disabled spaces directly in front of the downtown municipal courthouse. Pedestrians had to walk into the busy street just to get around the low bumper of the vehicle. Engine heat radiated off the hood, filling the air with the smell of warm rubber and fresh wax.

Officer Sarah Blake adjusted her tactical vest and pulled out her official ticketing tablet. She was thirty-two years old, a seven-year veteran of the city police force, and widely respected for her calm attitude. Sarah noticed the high-end vehicle blocking the access ramp while she was finishing her morning patrol beat nearby. A mother pushing a double stroller had just been forced off the curb into moving traffic because of it.

Sarah walked over to the driver side and noted the lack of any permit on the windshield. She began scanning the registration tags using her handheld device. That was when the heavy glass doors of the grand court building swung open with a loud thud. A young man stepped out onto the granite steps, wearing a crisp white designer suit and dark sunglasses. He was holding an expensive espresso cup in one hand and a gold smartphone in the other.

Justin Vance: Hey! What do you think you are doing near my car?

Officer Sarah Blake: Good morning, sir. Is this your vehicle?

Justin Vance: Of course it is mine. Put that device away right now.

Officer Sarah Blake: Sir, you are parked illegally across two disabled spaces.

Justin Vance: I am dropping off legal papers for my divorce lawyer. It takes two minutes.

Officer Sarah Blake: You cannot block an accessible pedestrian ramp, sir.

Justin Vance: Do you have any idea how much money this car costs?

Officer Sarah Blake: The cost of your car does not change parking ordinances.

Justin Vance: My father owns half the real estate companies in this state.

Officer Sarah Blake: I still need you to move your vehicle immediately.

Justin took a slow step down the stairs, his shoes clicking loudly on the hard stone surface. His posture was aggressive, his jaws clenched tight in sudden anger. He tossed his coffee cup directly into the nearby bush with total disregard for the public park around them. Passersby began to slow down, sensing the rising tension between the young wealthy man and the uniform officer.

Sarah remained completely still, keeping her distance and maintaining a polite tone. She knew that escalations often happened fast when soft-spoken power was challenged by arrogant wealth. Justin walked directly into her personal space, his face just inches from her official badge. He reeked of expensive cologne mixed with the sharp scent of morning alcohol.

Justin Vance: If you write that ticket, I will make sure you lose your job today.

Officer Sarah Blake: Sir, please step back and show me your driver license.

Justin Vance: Get out of my face before I show you real power.

Officer Sarah Blake: This is your final warning to step back, sir.

Instead of pulling out his wallet, Justin raised his hand in a fast, unpredictable sweeping arc. The crack of palm hitting skin echoed down the quiet city street like a gunshot. The force of the strike knocked Sarah sideways, her officer hat flying onto the hot asphalt. Before she could regain her balance, Justin drew his leg back and forcefully kicked her straight in the ribcage.

Sarah fell back hard onto the concrete sidewalk, air rushing out of her lungs in a sharp gasp. Pain flared down her side as her elbow scraped against the harsh ground. Nearby witnesses shrieked in horror, several dropping their bags as they backed away in utter disbelief. Justin stood over her with a sneer, buttoning his jacket as if he had just cleared away trash.
