Chapter 4 of 6
A Groom Accused a Child Until Security Camera Footage revealed Everything
The Truth Drops
The crowd gasped louder as Martha's true motives came out daylight clear.
Relatives began whispering to each other while stepping back from Martha.
Arthur looked at his mother like he was seeing a stranger.
Arthur: I trusted you when you told me Lily was near the safe.
Arthur: I screamed at a frightened little girl because of your lies.
Grandma Martha: She does not belong in our family tree anyway!
Evelyn: She is a child who never did anything wrong to you.
Evelyn stepped between Arthur and his mother with complete authority.
Evelyn: You wanted me to look unfit so Arthur would break our engagement.
Evelyn: You staged a crime to destroy a six-year-old child's safety.
Martha looked around the room, searching for support from her friends.
Every relative looked away or turned their backs on her in disgust.
The family attorney stepped out from the back of the room.
He carried his leather briefcase and looked extremely disappointed and stern.
Lawyer: Martha, framing someone and falsifying document theft is serious illegal fraud.
Lawyer: The board will have to review your position in the trust fund.
Grandma Martha: You cannot remove me from my father's legacy!
Lawyer: The morals clause in the estate contract is very strict about this.
Martha realized the huge consequences of her wicked action all at once.
Her hands began to shake while her arrogant expression fell completely.
Arthur: Hand over your key to the estate house right now, Mother.
Grandma Martha: Arthur, please, you are my only son!
Arthur: And Lily was going to be my daughter today.
Arthur held out his hand while waiting in cold silence.
Martha reached into her purse with trembling fingers and pulled out keys.
She dropped them into his palm while tears of shame welled up.
She turned around and hurried out of the grand hall rapidly.
