Chapter 2 of 6

A Groom Accused a Child Until Security Camera Footage revealed Everything

The Hidden Lens Above

Arthur turned his head slowly to look up at the high ceiling corner.

A sleek black camera dome sat positioned directly under an exit sign.

Its tiny lens pointed right down toward the entrance of the suite.

The room remained completely quiet as guests exchanged nervous glances.

Arthur: That camera has been broken for over six months.

Evelyn: The venue manager had it repaired yesterday morning for the ceremony.

Arthur pressed his lips together while his hands trembled slightly.

Grandma Martha: Let us not involve security staff over a small misunderstanding.

Evelyn: Accusing my child of stealing a trust fund is not a misunderstanding.

Evelyn picked up Lily carefully and stood up on her feet.

She walked past the whispering relatives without looking back once.

She headed straight for the venue administration office down the hall.

Arthur followed close behind her with heavy and rapid footsteps.

Arthur: Evelyn, wait, we can handle this privately inside the family!

Evelyn: You chose to make this public when you threw that frame.

They entered the small office where the security director sat working.

A wall of monitor screens lit up the room with bright gray light.

Security Guard: Can I help you folks with something urgent?

Evelyn: Please pull up the footage for the bridal corridor at two o'clock.

Arthur stood by the door while folding his arms tightly across his chest.

Arthur: This is a waste of time because the document was found.

Evelyn: The truth matters to my daughter, even if it bothers you.

The guard clicked his mouse and brought up the high-definition footage.

The video showed the carpeted hallway clearly under bright hallway lights.

At exactly one fifty-five, a figure approached the safe keypad smoothly.

The person pressed four buttons without any hesitation or confusion.

Lily's small frame was nowhere near the hallway during that moment.

The figure pulled the thick manila folder out of the steel box quickly.

Arthur leaned closer to the monitor screen while his breath caught instantly.

The camera captured the person's face clearly as they turned around.

Evelyn: That is not Lily holding those documents, Arthur.

Arthur stared at the screen while total silence filled the room.

The person on the monitor was wearing a distinctive gold bracelet.

It was the exact same bracelet his mother Martha wore today.
