Chapter 1 of 6

A Groom Accused a Child Until Security Camera Footage revealed Everything

The Accusation That Broke Peace

The bright summer sun poured through the high windows of the grand hall.

Polished hardwood oak floors reflected the elegant crystal chandeliers hanging above.

Family members gathered near the main entrance while enjoying cold drinks and music.

Evelyn stood near the refreshment table while adjusting her green silk dress.

She watched her six-year-old daughter Lily draw pictures on a small notepad.

The afternoon was supposed to be a celebration of new beginnings.

Arthur stepped into the center of the hall while holding a heavy silver frame.

His face looked pale and his eyes swept across the crowded room angrily.

He walked straight toward the quiet corner where Lily was playing softly.

Arthur: Where did you hide the rest of it?

Lily blinked up at him with wide and innocent blue eyes.

Lily: I was just drawing a flower for the bride.

Arthur slammed the frame onto the hardwood floor with tremendous force.

The glass shattered instantly into hundreds of sharp glittering pieces.

A collective gasp echoed across the vast room from thirty shocked guests.

Arthur: That is what happens when you raise a thief!

Evelyn dropped her glass and sprinted across the polished floor immediately.

She dropped to her knees and pulled Lily tightly against her chest.

Lily: Mommy!

Evelyn: Shh, baby, I have got you right here.

Lily: I did not take it, Mommy, I promise!

Arthur: Stop defending her when the evidence was in her lap!

Evelyn shielded her crying child while glaring up at her fiancé.

Her heart beat wild and fast inside her chest like a drum.

She had known Arthur for two years, but this felt entirely different.

His usual polite calm had vanished into something terrifying and cold.

Grandma Martha stepped forward in her elegant blue lace gown.

She adjusted her pearl necklace while placing a firm hand on Arthur's arm.

Grandma Martha: Evelyn, stop making a scene in front of our guests.

Evelyn: My daughter is trembling because your son shattered glass at her feet!

Arthur: She had the family trust fund document in her bag!

Evelyn: She is six years old and cannot even read those legal terms!

Arthur pointed a finger toward the ruined papers lying among the glass.

Arthur: Someone opened the safe in the bridal suite five minutes ago.

Arthur: Only three people had the combination code today.

Evelyn: And you assumed a little child unlocked a digital keypad?

Arthur hesitated for a second before his anger returned even stronger.

Arthur: She was seen running out of that room right after it opened.

Lily buried her small face into Evelyn's warm neck while sobbing hard.

Lily: The cat ran in there, so I just wanted to save it!

Evelyn lifted her chin while maintaining direct eye contact with Arthur.

She noticed the subtle red security light blinking high above his head.

Evelyn: You really should have checked the CCTV before making this mistake.
