Chapter 5 of 5
A Cruel Rich Man Kicked A Poor Boy's Bowl
A Fresh Start
Sarah looked closely at the young boy sitting on the ground, noticing his pale skin, dirty hands, and thin clothes that barely protected him from the crisp wind blowing down the street. Her heart melted with deep compassion as she realized that this poor child had probably been surviving all alone on these cold streets for a very long time without anyone taking care of him or showing him basic human kindness.
Sarah: What is your name, little guy?
Beggar Boy: My name is Leo... I don't have a home anymore since my grandma got sick last winter.
Sarah: Well, Leo, today is your lucky day. You don't have to sit on this sidewalk ever again.
Sarah reached into her coat pocket and pulled out her thick leather wallet once more. But this time, she didn't pull out her gold federal badge. Instead, she pulled out five crisp, hundred-dollar bills that she had withdrawn from the bank earlier that morning. She gently folded the green paper money and tucked it securely into the front pocket of Leo's oversized jacket, patting it gently so it wouldn't fall out onto the ground.
Sarah: We are going to go get you a big warm breakfast right now, and then my team is going to help us find you a safe, clean place to live with a real family who will care for you properly.
Beggar Boy: Really? You're not lying to me?
Sarah: I never lie, Leo. I'm a federal agent, and taking care of good kids like you is the best part of my job.
Tears of joy sprang into Leo's eyes as he wrapped his small arms around Sarah's neck, hugging her tightly in front of the cheering crowd. For the first time in over a year, the young boy felt safe and warm, knowing that his dark days of begging on the street were finally over. Sarah stood up, holding Leo's small hand in hers as they walked away from the white luxury store together toward her car, leaving behind the dark shadow of the rich man who had tried to crush them.
A few months later, Richard Vance stood in a cold courtroom before a tough federal judge, wearing an orange jumpsuit instead of his usual designer suits. Thanks to Sarah's swift actions and deep investigation, the government successfully seized all of Richard's massive inheritance, trust funds, and real estate properties to pay back the millions of dollars he had stolen from innocent victims over the years. Part of his seized estate was set aside by the court to fund local youth shelters and support programs for homeless children across the entire city.
Meanwhile, Leo was officially adopted by a loving, high-income family who lived in a beautiful quiet neighborhood with a large green backyard. He enrolled in a great local school, made lots of bright new friends, and never had to worry about where his next meal was coming from ever again. Every year on his birthday, Sarah visited him with a brand new warm jacket and a big smile, reminding him that even in a world full of cruel bullies, true justice and love will always find a way to win in the end.
