Chapter 3 of 5
A Cruel Rich Man Kicked A Poor Boy's Bowl
The Badge Revealed
The sound of the open-handed smack cracked through the clear morning air like a gunshot, echoing off the high glass windows of the surrounding buildings. Sarah's palm connected squarely with the arrogant man's right cheek, hitting him with immense force that turned his head sharp to the side. His expensive black sunglasses flew off his nose, tumbling through the air before crashing onto the concrete ground and shattering into several broken pieces.
The man stumbled back three full steps, clutching his bright red face in absolute shock as his mouth hung open in total disbelief. His skin felt like it was burning on fire where her hand had hit him, and his eyes watered from the sudden sharp impact. The entire crowd of shoppers went dead silent, staring at the middle-aged millionaire who was now trembling with pure rage in front of a woman half his size.
Arrogant Man: You crazy bitch! You just assaulted me! You're going to rot in a federal prison for touching me!
Sarah: Shut your mouth and don't take another step!
Before the man could raise his hands to strike back, Sarah reached inside her heavy beige trench coat with a smooth, disciplined motion. She pulled out a black leather wallet and flipped it open with a sharp flick of her wrist, holding it right in front of the man's wide, terrified eyes. Mounted firmly inside the dark leather was a heavy gold star badge that caught the bright sunlight, gleaming with authority beside an official photo identification card that listed her as a senior lead investigator for the government.
Sarah: FEDERAL AGENT! YOU'RE UNDER ARREST FOR EXTORTION AND WIRE FRAUD!
Arrogant Man: What... what are you talking about? This is a mistake! You can't do this to me!
Sarah: Richard Vance, we have been tracking your illegal offshore accounts and your real estate extortion scam for six long months. We were waiting for the judge to sign the final warrant this morning, but seeing you abuse a defenseless child right here gave me all the probable cause I needed to take you down right now!
Richard's face drained of all its color, turning completely white as his mind raced to comprehend what was happening. The arrogance that had filled his posture just seconds ago completely vanished, replaced by a sudden, gut-wrenching terror that made his knees shake violently beneath his expensive pants. He looked around wildly, hoping to spot his private security team or his personal driver, but it was far too late for anyone to help him escape the trap he had walked straight into.
Richard: Wait! Please! We can work something out! I have millions of dollars! Just name your price and let me walk into my building!
Sarah: Your money can't buy your way out of this one, Richard. Your empire is over.
At that exact moment, two unmarked silver SUVs pulled up to the curb with their tires screeching against the pavement. Four heavily armed federal officers jumped out of the vehicles, dressed in tactical vests with bright yellow letters across their backs. They moved with fast precision, closing in on the stunned billionaire before he could even think about turning around to run away into the store crowd.
