Chapter 4 of 5

Woman Rips Bride Dress And Discovers Missing Child Identity

The Truth Exposed

Mark backed away toward the room mirror, pressing his hands against his face as heavy panic set in. He looked back at Sarah, seeing the exact same facial structure and eye shape that he saw in his own reflection every morning. The love he felt for her was suddenly twisted into an overwhelming shock that made him want to scream. Sarah sat frozen on the velvet sofa, her heart breaking into a thousand sharp pieces. The future she had carefully built with Mark was completely destroyed in a single second.

Sarah: This isn't real... tell me this is just a terrible dream!

Mark: We were about to take wedding vows in front of everyone, Sarah!

Evelyn: Thank God I stopped you before you signed the marriage legal documents!

Sarah: Don't you act like a savior! You destroyed my life today!

Evelyn: I saved you from committing a terrible legal crime without knowing it!

Sarah stood up from the sofa, dropping the coat onto the floor as her eyes flashed with intense fury. She walked straight up to Evelyn, pointing a shaking finger directly at the older woman's chest. She blamed Evelyn's arrogance and greed for keeping them apart for so long. If Evelyn had treated her like a human being instead of a poor outsider, they would have talked about her past months ago. They would have discovered the green jade necklace and the birthmark long before standing at a church altar.

Evelyn could not utter a single defense because she knew Sarah was telling the absolute truth. Her snobbish attitude and class hatred had kept her from ever looking closely at the girl her son loved. She had dismissed Sarah as a nobody, refusing to hear a single detail about her background or her childhood memories. Her own blind prejudice had brought them to the very edge of a massive social disaster.

Evelyn: You are right... I was terrible to you, and I will regret it forever.

Sarah: Your regret doesn't fix my broken heart! It doesn't fix anything!

Mark: We have to cancel the wedding and tell all the guests to leave right now.

Evelyn: No, let me go out there and handle the public announcement myself.

Sarah: I don't want your money, and I don't want your fake family name!

Evelyn stepped out of the private room and walked back into the main wedding hall, heading straight toward the microphone near the front altar. The crowd fell completely silent as the wealthy woman stood before them, her dress torn and her eyes red from heavy crying. She announced clearly that the wedding was officially canceled due to a shocking family discovery. She confessed publicly that her late husband had committed a terrible crime decades ago, hiding her long-lost biological daughter from her. She revealed that the young bride was actually her missing child, Grace Vance.

Gasps of utter shock echoed through the massive room as guests exchanged wild looks of disbelief. Evelyn declared that Sarah was the rightful primary heir to the entire Vance corporate estate and trust fund money. She pledged to spend the rest of her life making up for the terrible pain her family had caused. Meanwhile, inside the private room, Mark held Sarah's hands tightly, tears streaming down both of their faces as they said goodbye to the romantic future they could never have.
