Chapter 2 of 5
The Bride Staring At The Bandaged Woman She Believed Dead
Secrets Under The Bandages
The entire crowd remained silent while the strange woman stood her ground firmly.
The groom looked back and forth between Clara and the unknown guest.
He demanded an explanation from his future bride right that very second.
Clara tried to maintain her calm composure in front of the wealthy guests.
She claimed the bandaged woman was just a crazy stranger from off the street.
However her unsteady hands revealed the deep terror hidden inside her heart.
She grabbed her dress and backed away toward the big altar table.
The bandaged woman unbuttoned her trench coat and pulled out a small black book.
It was the old family ledger that had disappeared months ago.
The crowd began to whisper as they recognized the official estate seal on top.
That book held the records to a massive multi-million dollar trust fund.
Clara had claimed total ownership of those funds after a sudden accident earlier that year.
She had told the entire city that her half-sister had passed away in hospital.
No one had questioned the legal documents Clara presented to the city court.
She had paid off doctors and lawyers to secure the whole massive estate.
Now the rightful heir was standing right in front of her wedding altar.
Groom: Clara is this really your sister sitting before us?
Bride: No she died in a tragic car accident months ago!
Bandaged Woman: I survived the crash that you planned for me Clara.
Bride: That is a completely absurd accusation to make today!
Bandaged Woman: I have the medical records right here in my hand.
The groom reached out and grabbed the legal documents from the stranger's outstretched hand.
He scanned the pages quickly as his jaw dropped in complete shock.
The paper contained official signatures from the city medical examiner's office.
It proved that the woman standing before them was indeed the long-lost sister.
Clara's legal scheme was unravelling faster than she could control it.
She tried to snatch the papers back from her wealthy groom's hands.
Bride: Give those papers to me right now Arthur!
Groom: Do not touch me until I read every single word!
Bandaged Woman: She forged our father's last will and testament Clara did.
Bride: You are destroying my happiness on my special day!
Bandaged Woman: You destroyed my entire life to buy this silly dress.
The guests were recording everything on their cell phones near the back rows.
The scandal was already spreading across the city through social media feeds.
Clara felt completely trapped like a small animal caught in a cage.
She knew the police would be involved if these documents were shown publicly.
Her dreams of marrying into wealth were disappearing right before her eyes.
She turned around to look at her mother sitting in the front row.
Her mother refused to look her in the eye and turned away silently.
Even her own family knew the truth about the missing inheritance money.
The bandaged woman reached up to untie the knots on her white face mask.
She was ready to reveal the physical proof of Clara's terrible actions.
Bandaged Woman: Look at what your greed caused to my face.
Bride: Please stop this right now before it goes too far!
Bandaged Woman: It went too far the day you locked me away.
