Chapter 2 of 6
The Arrogant Millionaire Learns Who The Scared Little Girl Really Is
A Sudden Blow Of Real Justice
Victoria took a sharp step forward, her face turning red with sudden anger as she glared at David kneeling on the floor. She could not stand being ignored, especially not in front of the dozens of wealthy community leaders and business partners she had invited to show off her high social standing. She clenched her fists at her sides, her expensive gown rustling loudly as she stepped closer to the young child and the man protecting her.
Victoria: Stay out of this right now, David! You have no right to interfere with my house rules!
David: You are torturing a scared seven-year-old orphan in front of a room full of people.
Victoria: She is a nobody! Her mother was nothing, and this child is an unwelcome strain on our family estate!
David: Keep your mouth shut about her mother, Victoria.
Victoria: I will speak however I want in my own home! Get up and put that useless brat outside!
David slowly rose to his feet, his full height towering over Victoria as the air in the room grew heavy and cold. The quiet murmur of the crowd completely ceased, leaving only the sound of high-strung tension vibrating through the mansion hall. Victoria took a quick step closer, raising her hand to point a long finger directly at David's face, her lips curled in a sneer of pure arrogance. She believed her status, wealth, and marriage into the family line made her untouchable in this grand American home.
Outraged by her ruthless treatment of the young girl and her endless disrespect, David's patience completely ran out. Before Victoria could utter another sharp word, David pulled his arm back and forcefully delivered a hard, direct open-handed slap straight across her left cheek. The sound of the sharp impact cracked through the high-ceilinged room like a gunshot, echoing off the white crown molding and hardwood floor.
Victoria's head snapped back violently from the physical force of the slap, her body stumbling sideways onto the shiny oak floor. The guests let out a collective, sharp gasp, several women covering their mouths while men stood frozen in sheer shock. Victoria gasped for air, her ears ringing from the sudden blow as a bright red handprint immediately began to rise on her pale skin. She clutched her cheek with both hands, staring up at David from the floor with wide, terrified eyes, completely stripped of her proud dignity in a single second.
Victoria: You... you slapped me! How dare you lay a hand on me in my own mansion!
David: This is not your mansion, Victoria. And you will never lay a hand on my niece again.
Victoria: Your niece? What insane lie are you talking about?!
David: She is my late brother's biological daughter. Which means she owns more of this estate than you ever will.
Lily looked up from the floor, her wide brown eyes moving between the crying woman on the ground and the tall man standing tall above her. The room remained dead silent as David reached into his inner tuxedo pocket, pulling out a sealed leather folder with official legal stamps across the front cover. The atmosphere in the mansion shifted instantly from quiet confusion to absolute shock as the truth began to unravel right before their eyes.
