Chapter 3 of 5

She Crawled Toward The Button Before Her Husband Realized Everything

The Red Alert

A low, silent signal immediately raced across high-speed encrypted phone lines, flying straight past the mansion's local security hub and landing directly inside a high-security banking facility thirty miles away in the city center. At that exact moment, a sharp digital chime sounded from Reed's pocket. He frowned deeply, pulling out his latest model smartphone, expecting a simple notification from his investment trading app. Instead, his screen instantly turned bright crimson red, displaying a flashing security alert box across the banking interface.

Reed: What the hell?! My accounts are locked!

Chloe: What do you mean locked? What is happening, Reed?

Reed: Every single account... the offshore holdings, the corporate lines, the personal checking... they are all completely frozen! The screen says 'Emergency Security Lockdown Initiated by Primary Trustee'!

Reed's face contorted in sudden panic and explosive rage as he tapped frantically on the glass screen, trying in vain to enter his passcode. But every attempt was immediately rejected by the system, wiping away his access credentials one by one right before his eyes. The fifty million dollar fortune he had spent years planning to steal was suddenly locked inside an impenetrable digital vault that he could not touch.

Marion: You thought... I was stupid, Reed...

Reed: What did you do, you sick witch?! Give me the master code!

Marion: My father... built this company from nothing. He knew... men like you existed...

Reed lunged forward, grabbing Marion by the shoulders and shaking her violently, his face turning bright red with pure rage. His neat white shirt became rumpled as he lost all control of his calm, arrogant composure. Chloe backed away toward the grand staircase, her hands shaking as she pulled her robe tight around her chest, realizing that their perfect plan was suddenly spiraling completely out of control.

Reed: Tell me the override code right now, Marion, or I swear I will snap your neck with my bare hands!

Marion: Go ahead... try it. The moment that button was pressed... every asset was locked... and the private security team was dispatched...

Reed: You are bluffing! The local police take twenty minutes to reach this private estate!

Chloe: Reed, we need to leave right now! Take the luxury cars and the safe cash!

Reed: Shut up, Chloe! I am not leaving fifty million dollars behind because of a stupid computer lock!

Before Reed could raise his fist against Marion again, a heavy, thunderous sound vibrated through the floorboards of the entire house. The loud roar of high-powered engines screeched to a halt right outside the front entrance, followed immediately by the heavy thud of tactical boots rushing up the front marble steps. The air in the room grew thick with tension as the quiet luxury of the mansion was shattered in an instant.

Reed: Who the hell is out there?!

Chloe: Oh my god, Reed! Look through the glass!

Outside the massive double glass doors, four dark tactical SUVs were parked in a tight defensive line across the driveway. Armed private security personnel dressed in full tactical uniforms swept across the manicured lawn, surrounding every exit of the estate with practiced military precision.

Reed: This is impossible! How did they get here so fast?!

Marion: They weren't coming from town, Reed... they were already waiting at the gate...
