Chapter 6 of 6
A Bitter Groom's Mother Rips Her New Bride's Cheap Dress
A New Beginning Built on Truth
Three months later, the sun shone brightly over a small, humble chapel near the coast, far away from the cold marble estate and the high-society cameras. There were no expensive luxury cars or multi-million-dollar flower arrangements lining the aisles. Only close friends, local bakery workers, and a few true family members sat in the wooden pews.
Hannah walked down the aisle wearing a simple, beautifully repaired white gown. The tear on the back had been fixed with delicate lace trim, turning the mark of violence into a symbol of healing and grace. Around her neck, the restored jade pendant rested against her skin, shining softly under the warm afternoon light.
Julian stood at the altar in a clean, modest suit, his face beaming with pure joy as his bride walked toward him. Beside the front row sat Margarethe Vance, wearing a simple cotton dress instead of her usual heavy dark purple silk. She watched her daughter with tears of genuine happiness, her hands resting quietly on her lap without a trace of the old arrogance.
Julian: You look even more beautiful than the first time, Hannah.
Hannah: Today, we start our life the right way—with love and truth.
Minister: Do you take each other to have and to hold, through rich and poor, in sickness and in health?
Julian & Hannah: I do.
As the minister pronounced them husband and wife, the small crowd clapped with true warmth and joy. Julian leaned in and kissed his bride, a sweet moment that wiped away every bit of pain and humiliation from the past months. Hannah smiled as she looked over at her mother sitting in the front pew.
Margarethe stood up slowly, stepping forward to hand Hannah a small bouquet of simple garden flowers she had picked herself that morning. For the first time in twenty-three years, the wealthy woman didn't look at money, status, or family legal titles. She saw only her daughter, back where she belonged after a long and painful storm.
Margarethe: Welcome home, my daughter.
Hannah: Thank you, Mom.
The simple word made Margarethe's eyes fill with happy tears as she wrapped both her children in a tight, warm hug. The bitter past was finally buried, replaced by a humble future where love mattered far more than any gold or estate trust could ever buy.
