A Bitter Bride Pushed Her Boy Into The Pool

The Wedding By The Pool

The bright sun shone brightly over the grand backyard estate in California. White roses covered the archway near the sparkling blue swimming pool, where dozens of rich guests chatted with expensive champagne glasses in their hands. Sarah stood near the edge of the patio, holding her seven-year-old son Toby close to her side. She wore a simple beige dress that she had saved up for months to buy. She felt out of place among the ladies wearing gold jewelry and designer clothes, but she was here for her late father's memory. Her father had worked as the chief gardener for the wealthy Sterling family for thirty long years. Before he passed away, he made Sarah promise that she would attend Victoria Sterling's wedding to show respect to the family that had paid for his medical treatment.

Toby looked up at his mother with bright blue eyes, his small black bow tie slightly crooked. He held a little toy car tight in his hands and smiled gently. He was a quiet boy who loved drawing and building things, but he was afraid of deep water. Sarah leaned down and adjusted his vest, giving him a warm smile to ease his nerves. She knew this crowd did not want them here, especially Victoria, the proud red-haired bride who had always looked down on Sarah since they were children. Victoria believed that poor people should never step foot inside the Sterling mansion unless they were carrying a tray of food or cleaning the floor.

Suddenly, Victoria walked out onto the marble patio in her long silk wedding dress, accompanied by her tall fiancé, Richard. Richard was a cutthroat corporate lawyer who was famous for taking over small businesses and breaking up family estates for big profits. Victoria looked around the patio with a cold glance until her eyes landed straight on Sarah and Toby. Her jaw tightened, and her green eyes flashed with anger. She had explicitly told her mother that she did not want servants or their children at her luxury wedding. Victoria held a glass of red wine, her diamond engagement ring sparkling in the afternoon sunlight as she marched directly toward Sarah.

Victoria: Why are you standing in the middle of my reception?

Sarah: We just came to leave a gift for your mother, Victoria.

Victoria: My mother does not need cheap gifts from a gardener's daughter.

Richard: You are making the place look cheap. Leave through the back gate now.

Sarah took a slow step back, trying to keep her temper under control for Toby's sake. She did not want any trouble on this day. But before Sarah could grab Toby's hand to leave, Victoria bumped hard into Toby, splashing a drop of red wine onto her white dress. Victoria let out a loud dramatic gasp, dropped her glass onto the stone tiles, and looked at the little boy with pure hatred in her eyes. Toby looked up in panic, stuttering an apology, but Victoria did not care to hear any words from him.

With a sudden, violent shove, Victoria slammed her hands into Toby's small chest. The force sent the boy flying backward right over the stone ledge of the deep swimming pool. A loud splash echoed across the courtyard as water sprayed high into the air. Shocked screams rang out from the crowd of guests as Toby disappeared beneath the surface. Sarah screamed in absolute terror, her heart stopping completely as she saw her terrified child struggling under the heavy blue water.
