Chapter 5 of 6

His Bride Claimed She Was Framed Until A Silver Bracelet Exposed Her Secret

The Confrontation Below

The main lobby fell completely silent as Mark reached the bottom floor.

Chloe turned around to face Mark, her expression shifting from panic to anger.

Chloe: You think you are so perfect in your big mansion, Mark!

Mark: I trusted you with my home and my daughter's happiness.

Chloe: You only cared about your past and your precious memories!

Mark: Those memories belonged to my family, not to a thief.

Mark picked up the small black pouch that dropped from her pocket.

Inside were several rare gold coins passed down from his grandfather.

Arthur: Mark, the police officers are two minutes away from the estate gates.

Mark: Good. She can explain her actions to the judge in court.

Chloe pulled off her long white veil and threw it onto the floor.

Chloe: I never wanted this stupid wedding anyway!

Mark: You only wanted access to the family trust fund and safe codes.

The front double doors opened as two uniformed police officers walked inside.

Mark stepped forward to give them a brief summary of the situation.

Officer: Is this the woman who took the property, sir?

Mark: Yes, she had stolen heirlooms on her person and locked my daughter away.

The officer walked up to Chloe and asked her to turn around slowly.

She complied quietly, knowing that there was no way out now.

Officer: Ma'am, you have the right to remain silent right now.

They placed handcuffs on her wrists and guided her toward the front entrance.

The wedding guests watched in stunned silence as she was led away.

Chloe kept her head down as she walked past the rows of chairs.

Mark took a deep breath and looked at his small daughter standing beside him.

Lily wrapped her small arms tightly around his waist with a smile.

Lily: I am glad we are safe now, Daddy.

Mark: We are completely safe, sweetheart. I promise you.
