Chapter 3 of 5
A Groom Learns The Hidden Truth After Kicking His Ex
Unraveling The Deception
The gentle garden breeze now felt freezing cold as Mark took three slow steps back from Clara, pulling his arm completely out of her grasp. Clara reached out again, her perfect composure crumbling fast as tears started ruining her flawless bridal makeup. Behind them, several elderly family members were standing on their chairs to get a better view of the shocking scene unfolding at the altar. Mark glanced down at the smartphone that Sarah was still holding out with a trembling hand, watching the brief video clip restart once more. The evidence was far too clear, showing Clara discussing specific terms of a fraudulent prenup document that Mark’s lawyer had drafted last week. Every single detail mentioned on the recording matched confidential financial numbers that only someone close to him could possibly know. Clara’s face twitched as she tried to pull off another convincing lie, her voice rising into an unpleasant high pitch.
Clara: You are really going to trust an ex-wife who left you over a peaceful life with me?
Mark: She didn't leave me, Clara. I pushed her away because people like you whispered poison in my ears!
Clara: That is not fair! I built a life with you over this past year!
Mark: You built a trap to take my inheritance and my family estate!
Mark turned his attention back to Sarah, who was still kneeling on the stone path trying to gather her dropped purse contents. Her elbow was swollen and red from where Clara’s heel had struck her body with cruel force during her sudden outburst. Mark felt a sharp pang of remorse deep inside his heart as he remembered how quickly he had judged Sarah when she arrived. For two long years, he had believed Sarah was bitter about their separation, never realizing she was watching his back from a distance. He knelt down beside her on the dirty path, ignoring the white silk fabric of his tuxedo pants touching the damp ground. He gently reached out and took her hand, feeling how icy cold her skin felt against his broad palm.
Mark: Sarah... are you hurt badly? I am so sorry I raised my voice at you.
Sarah: I don't care about the pain, Mark. I just couldn't let you sign those financial papers today.
Mark: You ran all the way here just to protect my life from this fraud?
Sarah: You were always a good man. You didn't deserve to lose everything you worked so hard to build.
Clara stomped her heavy wedding shoe against the wooden platform, her fake tears disappearing instantly to reveal pure, unadulterated cold rage. She pointed a sharp finger down at both of them, her chest heaving as she dropped all pretense of being a sweet bride. The guests gasped as Clara threw her floral bouquet directly at Mark's head, missing him by just a few inches.
Clara: You ruined everything, you pathetic loser! I spent months setting up this entire plan!
Mark: So you finally admit it! It was all just about the money from the start!
Clara: You were so easy to fool! You were so lonely that you believed every single nice word I said!
The entire crowd broke out into furious shouting as Clara’s true personality was fully revealed to everyone in attendance. Several of Mark’s close friends stepped out from their seats, moving quickly toward the altar to make sure Clara didn't attack anyone again. The magical summer wedding had officially turned into a chaotic scene of truth, exposure, and deep regret.
