Chapter 4 of 5
A Boy Saved His Mother Before The Final Funeral Ceremony
Shadows At The Family Mansion
Within fifteen minutes, loud police sirens echoed down the quiet street outside the funeral home.
Three white police cruisers pulled up along the front curb with bright red flashing lights.
Uniformed officers rushed into the bright chapel with their hands ready on their leather belts.
They immediately took the corrupt funeral director into custody after seeing the damaged casket inside.
The town sheriff walked over to Sarah and Leo to record their full official statements quickly.
Sheriff: Are you feeling alright to talk about what happened, Mrs. Sarah?
Sarah: I am safe now thanks to my brave twelve-year-old son, Sheriff.
Sheriff: We found your brother Richard hiding near the back woodland fence outside.
Leo: Is he going to go to prison for trying to steal our home?
Sheriff: He will spend a very long time behind bars for this terrible crime, Leo.
The paramedics checked Sarah's pulse and gave her warm drinking water on the cozy stretcher.
They confirmed that the dangerous sleeping medication was slowly fading out of her system completely.
By evening time, the warm sun began setting behind the rolling green hills of the town.
Police escorts drove Sarah and Leo back to their grand three-story family mansion estate safely.
The large stone house had belonged to Leo's grandparents for over forty long peaceful years.
It was surrounded by tall oak trees, neat garden hedges, and a sparkling blue swimming pool.
Leo held his mother's warm hand as they walked together through the grand front doors.
The house felt strangely quiet without Uncle Richard's cold voice echoing through the hallways.
Leo: Are you sure we are completely safe here tonight, Mom?
Sarah: Yes, my brave son, because the police have locked Richard away in jail.
Leo: I was so scared that I would lose you forever today.
Sarah: Your love gave you the sharp ears to hear my small tapping sound.
Aunt Clara arrived shortly after with hot vegetable soup and warm freshly baked bread rolls.
She placed the food onto the dining table and gave both of them huge loving hugs.
Aunt Clara: The family lawyers are canceling every single fake document Richard tried to sign.
Sarah: He wanted full control of the five million dollar life insurance policy today.
Aunt Clara: Now the entire family business belongs safely to you and young Leo forever.
They sat together near the warm fireplace while the golden firelight filled the dark room.
Leo felt a deep wave of peaceful relief wash over his tired mind and small body.
He knew that his quick actions had protected his mother from a truly terrible fate.
